To Japan from around the world and out from Japan into the world.

It is our belief that the independent labels lead the way for the music industry with new music. Even though this music may not always be what is considered “in” today, this is the music defining the music of tomorrow.

The vision and creativity coming from a passion for music continues to lead and inspire us. This passion helps to keep an edge over what is done otherwise just based on business principles. The significant changes within the independent music scene can even influence the overall music market. Big name artists were also once lesser known, and as the independent labels are the smallest business unit supporting and encouraging new music, the goal of this event is to support this growth together with them.

In addition to the traditional distribution of packaged music, recent technology has provided many new challenges and choices for record labels to consider. To better understand these new challenges and choices we hope that the event will also be a place for networking, the sharing of ideas, and creating new partnerships.

The aim of this convention for independent labels is bringing leading-edge labels and their artists from around the world to participate in developing the next musical movement together from Japan . Bringing the best of both worlds closer together, that is the independence-D 2007.

【LIVE SHOWCASE】
Artists who are recommended, nominated, or registered will perform livesets onassigned dates depending on their musical category:

February 3 STREET ROCK DAY
<PUNK/EMO/ALTERNATIVE/POST ROCK　etc.>

February 4 METAL/SHOCK ROCK DAY
<HARD CORE/METAL/SHOCK ROCK/HEAVY ROCK/PSYCHOBILLY/GRAM R&R etc.>

*On account of the schedule, CLUB MUSIC DAY carried out so far gave up execution in this year.

【TRADE SHOW】
Not only artists and labels, but digital distribution companies, studios,
CD manufacturers, independent distributors, merchandisers, and many other organizations essential to the independent scene will be setting up booths to exchange their know-how for people interested in distributing music independently.

【COMPETITION】
A "Competition Stage" will be set up for bands, who are auditioned to perform, to give up-and-coming independent artists a chance towards their big break.

【INDEPENDENT LABEL SEMINAR】
Seminars and panel discussions hosted by presenters from various music industry fields will lecture on various themes related to the independent music scene.
